With reference to the sawmill license granted to Mr Albert Adsett, at Oio, m block 8, Kaitieke S.D., the ranger submitted his appraisement of the quantity, of timber on each area granted to Mr Adsett 1 , namely—2oo acres east of main road, 5,909,000 sup. feet,.. 20 acres west of road, sawmill site, 281,740 sup. feet, total 6,190,740 sup. feet. —It was resolved to fix royalty to be charged for the above mentioned quantity of timber at 5s per hundred sup. feet, over all classes of.timber, and the term of license to be fixed at six years. The Egmont B.ox Co. applied to purohase the timber on about 10 acres of tfye Wliakapapa Island held by them under, temporary lease.—lt was resolved that no rights over Whakapapa Island can be granted until the native claim to tho island has been decided. W. G. Fargie applied to convert his deferred payment license of section 6, Eiaglesham setlement, 268 acres, tp renewable lease, which was approved. Consideration was given to the disposal of section 9, block 6, Makotuku S.D , containing 11a 2r, and it was resolved to recommend the removal of reservation, and to let the land under section 130 of the Land Act,* 1908. It was resolved to determine the year to year permit granted on October Bth, 1915, to C. J. Culling, to occupy sections 6 and 15, block 1, town of Pohangina, containing 2 roods, and to grant a permit to Mr L. R. JHarland to occupy the land under similar conditions as from July Ist, 1921, at a rental of £1 5s per annum. Consideration was given to the disposal of sections 2 and 3, block 15, Tauakira S.D., comprising 1912 acres. under section 4 of tho Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement, Act 1915, and offer it in two sections at a capital value to be fixed. The Rangatnua Timber Company was granted permission to Ihy a tramline

through section 26, block 5, Karioi, up to March 19th, 1922, at a rental of £1 per annum. Recommended to Minister for Lands for approval: —Mr A. Caisson’s application for extension of time for three years to complete the milling of the timber on sections 2,3, 4, block 4, lvaitieke S.D., 541 acres. The Baetihi Town Board’s application, for part section 22, block 6, Makotuku, comprising 7i acres, to be set aside as a scenic reserve. Mr T. H. Brown, holder of section 2, block 11, Whirinaki S.X)., application to purchase the portion of section 1, blook 11. Whirinaki, containing 5 acres, situated between his section and the road.
