DISASTROUS BLAZE
VALUABLE HOMESTEAD BURNED. PSE PRESS ASSOCIATION. MASTERTON, January 27. The homestead of Mr Norman Graves, at Bushgrore, near Tinui, was totally destroyed by fire this afternoon. The house was valued at £4OOO, and had recently been extensively added to. The insurance was £IOOO on the house and on the furniture £3OO. It was one of the oldest homesteads in that part of the district.. Little of the furniture was saved. The fire was caused ’by a defective chimney. MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE HIS VISIT TO HAWKE’S BAY. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. HASTINGS, January 27. The Hon. W. Non Worthy (Minister for Agriculture) spen/t a quiet day here to-day, visiting friends. To-morrow he wifl'l attend the ceremony off driving* the first pile an connection with the new inner harbour works ait Napier. In the evening he wifll represent the Cabinet , art a. public presentation to Messrs William Ne'feon, George Nelson and A. E. Juill. The Minister will return to Wellington on Saturday.
