The staff is engaged in preparing a further list of permanently and partially-disabled soldiers, which will be forwarded to the other patriotic and war relief associations when completed.” The report of the Finance Committee was that six applications had been dealt with since the last meeting. Two loans had been authorised for businesses, one of which was to a soldier partially disabled, and the other _to a soldier’s mother, who was in difficulties owing to the war disability of her son. The remaining four cases were for the purchase or residential property, and as three of the applicants were suffering ,as the resulfb of war disabilities, the committee granted the sums asked for, whilst in the remaining case, the committee was satisfied that there were exceptional circumstances, and decided to grant the amount required. It was reported that the December expenditures amounted to £2996 and the income to £7BO. The credit balances at the bank at the end of the year were stated to total £ll7O. A letter was received from the Service Patients’ Welfare Oommittee, Pukeroa Sanatorium, requesting the allocation of a portion of the association’s funds for the exclusive benefits of tubercular men. It was decided that there was no necessity for a grant as tubercular men were provided for under the executive’s soheme.
