THE PRESBYTERY
MONTHLY MEETING. REV. W. HEWITSON AS MODERATOR. ; The monthly meeting of the Presbytery was held last evening, the Moderator, Rev. W. Day, presiding. The' clerk of the Presbytery report, ed that la plan had been drawn up in regard to the reception by the church representatives of immigrants arriving in the Dominion, and urged that the matter be left in the hands of the special committee which has had the matter under consideration. The Presbytery approved of this suggestion. The following voting delegates were appointed to attend the forthcoming meeting of the General Assembly which js to sit in Wellington next month:—Revs. D. J. H. Shaw, M. B. Harris, A Bruce Todd, J. Paterson, W. Shirer, J. H. Mackenzie. J. G. Smith, R. Inglis, and Dr J. Gibb, and elders appointed by the sessions ofvLjevin, Brooklvn. Island Bav. Kent terrace, and St. John's, Hutt. It was decided to nominate' the Rev. W. Hewitson as Moderator of the Presbytery for the ensuing year. The Rev. Shirer nominated tho Rev. W. J. Comrie, but that gcntlpman intimated that he did not wish td stand.
