BOROUGH COUNCIL'S ENTERPRISE. The Paamerston North Borough Council has been doing a big business in. the export of tallow (wrvtos the "'Times" correspondent ), and have paid up to 4d per lb for fat purchased from local butchers. A setback, bowever, was experienced with its last shinment. when onlv £s° neir ton was realised, and this compelled the council to recently reduce the p'-'ce of fat purchased from butchers to 3d. T.o-day's Lomdon quotations. however, slrxw rapid advances, and sales were mado at prices from £75 to £fiO pen ton! Such •is nrofit-mnking coiipled ■with an unsettled market.
