DIVORCE SUITS IN N.S.W.

3MARKAJBLE NUMBERS LISTED. ~No fewer than 811 petitions have been lodged for attention in the divoroo jurisdiction of tho Supreme Court of New South Wales from January this year to date, and although two judges have been sitting almost continuously in the courts, Eome 600 suits axe on the list for tho commencement of the third term. Over 1000 petitions were filed last year, and if the present average is maintained that number will this year be increased to 1500 or 1600. One firm of solicitors alono has 100 suits in hand, -which is a record. In view of tho resulting congestion. Mr Justice-Harvey will as« sist the Judge in Divorce, Mr Justiot Gordon, for the remainder of the year.
