FAREWELL TO CLARK 1 McCONACHY. The champion. 'billiardist. Clark McCohachy, concluded Jiis match, of 3UOO up with Mr \V. .N. Tucker, one of the best local amateurs, in the Albert Milliard I'ariours test evening in the piesence of a very large attendance. The champion conceded his opponout a 1000 start, and during the afternoon session made one of the best breaks in a match in Wellington on a standard table, of J 43. Ho also made several breaks of over 150, two of the latter being made in the evening session. Mr Tucker's best breaks were from 50 to 60. After the game McConaclw gave a lesson on tho method of playing billiards. Last evening was McConachy'e last appearance in New Zealand, as he leaves on Friday for Queensland, after which he will visit India and South Africa before going to England, to compete in the worlds championship.

At the conclusion of the match last night, the manager of Alcock's congratulated McConachy on has excellent , play and remarked to the audience that ho would uphold the honour of the Dominion while in England contesting the world's . championship. His averages in New Zealand matches showed that he, was fully qualified to competo with the best, and that during his tour of New Zealand he made better breaks than any visiting champion had been able to secure. Mr J. McDonald, the proprietor of the Albert Parlours, provided for the whole expenses of " McConachy and his lessons to Wellington billian'lists for the purpose of educating the public in the playing of high-class billiards. Mr A. A. Marryatt. president of the New Zealand Oilympio Coundil, congratulated the champion on his showing, and expressed the hope, on behalf of all true sports, that he would succeed in bringing back to New Zealand the world's billiard championship.
