Gate under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement 4ct (adjourned from last meeting to enable Air Alclntyro to inspect and report), was considered, and it was resolved to allot the land to tho applicant at a capital value of £2 per acre, providing he has not already taken up other land, and is still desirous of selecting it. The m,odo of disposal of eight milled out areas in block 4, Kuitieko S.D.. comprising sections 33 to 40, containing a total area of 1081 acres, was considered, and it was resolved that the sections be offered under section 4 of the D.S.S. Act, subject to milling and tramway rights, and at capital values fixed by Air W. Stewart, surveyor, which include the loading for road construction. Tho ballot to bo held at Owhango; two years’ exemption from rent. , . Air C. E. AlcWhirter’s application Sot section 42, Raetihi Extension Nov 1, containing 2a Or Ip, under the Act, was at a capital value of £100; tenure, renewable lease. LEASES RENEWED. The board considered tho question of granting Air James Robbie a renewal of.his Education Reserve lease, No. 3983, over section 23, blocks 5 and 9, Aohanga S.D., 726 acres, and it was resolved to offer the lessee a new lease for 21 years, with perpetual right of renewal, at an annual rental of £l6l ss.

Leases for a period of 21 years only were renewed as follow: Gilbert Whits Bfitley, Education Reserve lease No--3929, over sections 5 and 22, block 9, Rukeokabu S.D., 326 acres, annual rental, £195 11s; J. J. Lindvart, section 164, Raetihi township, annual rental, £5 9s; G. P- Fobs, Education Reserve, section 30, block 8, Tirirankawa S.D., 520 acres, annual rental, £260; William Campbell Watt, Education Reserve, section 21, Rewa township, 1 rood, annual rental, £l. The board considered the question os to tho .disposal .of tho timber on tho Omatano block, situated in blocks 4 and 9, Hautapu S.U., and Mr W. C. Gregory’s application for same, and it was decided that tho timber' be offered at auction in two lots, conditions and royalties to be fixed by tho Commissioner of Crown Lands.
