Artilleryman, the Melbourne Cup winner, is suffering from a swelling in the hind leg and has failed to improve under treatment. Hi® condition is regarded as serious. Artilleryman was a phenomenal three-year-old. winning numerous classic races before and after his victory in the Melbourne Cup. Ho is owned by Mr J. G. Murphy and Sir Samuel Hordern, and is by that great sire Comedy King, out of the New Zealand-bred mare Cross. Battery.
