The ballot taken last week amongst the members of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants to decide upon the acceptance or rejection of the recent agreement reached by the board set up to consider the claims of the First Division of the service, closed on Saturday. Two iwues were put to the voters—in favour of accepting, the agreement, and in favour of resuming the strike. . The secretary. Mr M, J. Mack, anticipates that it will.be fully a week before all the ballot papers will be received, and that the result will not be available for at least a fortnight.
