In tho House of Representatives, Air Mahon gave notice of a motion deploring the state of martial law in Ireland and stating that ‘‘this House is of opinion that the situation thus created is inimical to tho. Empire, and conflicts with the theory that Britain entered the late war to and preserve the liberty of small nations". copies of the resolution to ho forwarded to the British Government, President Wilson, and the Secretary of the Council of tho League of Nations.
