INCREASE IN PRICE. „ Hitherto the officer of the Permanent Force has meen able to secure his hoots at a price somewhat heiow tho present ruling figure. A general headquarters instruction issued yesterday. however, announces that owing tot an increase having been granted to the Defence Department’s contractors for the manufacture of officers' tan boots, it is now necessary to increase tho selling price from £1 17s 2d. to £2 lls 5d per pair. One pair per annum may, however, he bought by officers of tho Permanent Forces and attachments thereto at £2 6s 9d, which is tho actual cost price to the department without addition of administrative charges.
