EARLY MORNING CRASH

TRAINS IN COLLISION. MAIN TRUNK HELD UP. PE« PRESS ASSOCIATION. • AUCKLAND, July 1. Between 1 and 2 o’clock this morning a collision occurred at To Kanwhata between a goods train from Auckland and a special meat train from Horotiu. Tho goods train from Auckland pulled on to the siding to allow another goods train already in the station to leave, hut did not leave sufficient clearance at the end of the loop, with tho result that tho Horotiu tram crashed into tho engine. Both engines and 13 trucks of the goods train and a truck of the meat train ■'wore damaged, and the line blocked for four hours, holding up the Main Trunk train.
