"QUICK MARCH"

THE EDTUKNBD SOLDIERS* PAPER

Tho April number of "Quick March," tho New Zealand Returned Soldiers' national paper is a first-class ■production, and reflects tho greatest credit on the oiiitor. tho contributors, and others responsible for the issue. Among; tho interesting items of this excellent journal tiro several short stories, grave and gay. by well-known Now Zealand authors. A most interesting ■narrative of the hazardous work and gallant stand, which the Second Entrenching Battalion made round Meteren in April, 1918, forms an interesting contribution to the issue. Various articles with* headings such as "Gabriel D'Anminzio." "Random Recollections," by Major F. Waite, "An Outpost in Persia," "Tho Problem of E* change" b" Professor El. Murphy, and 'Tlio Dudlmnter" -will help 'to create a high standard for the production. The demands of the N.Z.R.S.A. with regard to'tho Rnahine overcrowding case are uivcn prominence. The paper is well illustrated and a narticularly fine group of photos taken on Gallipoli puts this department on <a high level. A poem, "In Memory," which pays a tribute to landing of the Now Zeala.ndws on Oiillinoli. sends with it a timely lesson. Tho brighter side of the journal is not neglected, and nmusinp l sketches and short stories full of merriment should <•■■* tbo tastes of those with a. lilang for tho lighter vein.
