CHRISTCHURCH GAS PRICES

Tho Ohristchurch G|ie Company has increased the price of gas by 5d per 1000 ft, making the net rate 7s lid per 1000 ft. This advance is stated to havo been forced upon the company by rises in the price of coal, and also by the adjustments to wages made by the Arbitration Court, in view of the increasing cost of Uvinß. These adjustments have increased tho pay-sheet of the company by several thousand pounds per annum.
