The Dartford by-election resulted—Mills (Labour), 13,610; Wing (Liberal), 4562; Mefler (Coalition Unionist), 4221; Applin (National Party), 2952; Fehr (Independent), 1802.
At the general election, Stockport returned one Coalition-Liberal (the late Mr G. L. Hughes), and one Labour member (Mr G. J. Wardlo) unopposed. Tho general election result for Dartford tos: —Rowlands (CoalitionLiberal), 15,626; Ling (Labour), 650 d.
