The circumstances disclosed, that the defendant left her employment with A. Levy and Company prior to the expiry of her term of apprenticeship. and took a position with another firm.
Mr W. Perry, for Miss Mood ham, submitted that .the breach was not a serious one, ns it was not made with the object of higher remuneration, but solely because the defendant had not been t.iblc to pet on with certain others in the employ of the company. The magistrate, Mr A\. G. Riddell, 8.M., in -imposing a fine of £2 with costs, said a nominal penalty would nor do. as it might prove au inducement to other apprentices to break their agreements. .
