SPLITTING UP THE LAND
«ER PKESS ASSOCIATION. TIMARU, March 17. Part of the famous Trevonna estate, of 571 acres, at Temuka, -which is said to be tome of the finest farming land in the Dominion, was submitted at auction yesterday in nine small farm lots of 44 to 81 acres. Two Jots of 67 and 47 acres were bought by J. Kernohan at £95 an acre, and other lots were separately purchased at £94, £76, and £2B per acre. Two lota not sold at auction were sold privately immediately after. G. Murray, of Braemar, who owns some land in the locality, bought 48 acres at £B2. The other buyers -were all local men.
