PROFITEERING ALLEGED

WELLINGTON GROCER CHARGED. FIRST CASE UNDER BOARD OF TRADE ACT. That would take soitie time, and then the defence had* to he prepared. Mr Prendeville_ objected to a long adjournment, but stated that he would not object to one of three or four days. His principal witness was on holiday, and she had already overstayed her leave as a result of the case.

The magistrate, Mr B. Page, S.M., said he thought the time asked for rather long but as it was an imnortanit case and one in which the defendant was liable to a heavy penalty, he would not refuse the application. The hearing was then set down for March 26th.
