FIRE AT GREYMOUTH
LABOUR PAPER OFFICE GUTTED. PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. GREYMOUTH. March XI. The “Argus” office, a large twostory wooden building, was gutted by fiie at 10 o’clock this morning. Tho firb originated in tho storeroom, and had a good hold when the brigade arrived. The building was saved from total destruction. Paper, books, and movable parts of the machinery were saved. There was great damage by fire and water. The Argus” was recently purchased by tho Labour party. FURNITURE FACTORY. DESTROYED. CHRISTCHURCH, March 11. The furniture factory of Peppier, Ltd., a large two-story wooden building, in Sydenham, and its contents were destroyed by fire last night. A new brick factory adjoining was saved. The insurances are not yet available.
Tho insurances on the furniture factory include £2300 on tho building, £2673 bn the machinery and contents in the Norwich Union Office, and £1223 on the machinery and contents in tho Alliance Office.
