ACCOUNTANTS’ SOCIETY
ANNUAL MEETING OF LOCAL BODY.
The annual meeting of the Wellington Accountant Ktudents’ Society was held last night. Tho annual report stalled than tho membership of tho society stands at 188,. an increase of 40 over last year. Various meetings were held during the year at which the'* average attendance was 42. The interest displayed in the meetings was very gratifying. The lectures on “Economics" and “Civics” proved tho most popular of the session. Tho mock company meeting was a very successful affair, due to the able manner in which it was conducted. Tho other lectures were also of a practical and valuable nature. Several of the lectures have boon or are in course of publication in “Accounting and Commerce,” and will bo available to members in pamphlet form. The oompdtitton for the 'trophy donated I y tho president, Mr Hunt, proved, a successful event. In the annual statement of accounts tho income and expenditure account shows a debit balance of £25 9s Bd, which has been transferred to the debit of the accumulated fund account. The library fund has boon transferred to the accumulated fund, which now stands at £s2’ 17s sd. Tho election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mr E. W. Hunt (re-elected unopposed) ; vice-presidents, Messrs J. L. Arcus, W. Appleton, A. T. Clarke, H. A. Gold, H. D. Edwards; committee, Messrs C. W. Armstrong, F. H. Bass, C. M. Bowden, H. P. Alournnt, B. It. Norman, W. O. Young; hon, auditor. Mr C. R. Mazcngarb; hon. treasurer. Mr J. L. Griffin; hon. secretary, Mr T. Auton.
