DISASTROUS EFFECT OF THE STRIKE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. PARIS, November 4. The city is suffering from a terrible coal shortage. Many schools are without fires. People are to heat shops and institutions with wood or oil. The railway strike in England accentuated the difficulty; and now the American strike is prolonging the shortage.
