CANTERBURY WIN LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP CUP. Prpxs Association. CHRISTCHURCH. September 29. The New Zealand ladies’ hockey tournament concluded to-day in very wintry weather. The ground was sodden. Canterbury A boat Canterbury B by 5 goals to nili Auckland and Wanganui drew (one goal each'), Wellington beat Nelson by three to one. ... Canterbury A team won the championship cup and Wellington secured the runners-up shield. Following are the points scored by the various teams t Points. Canterbury A 13 . Wellington 8 Canterbury B " Manawatu 6 Wanganui ....* <5 Nelson 2 Auckland 1 Misses Ayling (Wellington) and Rodder (Manawatu) were elected as the best players outside of the Canterburv teams and they received brooches from Dr. Thacker. M.P., president of the Canterbury Ladies’ Hockey Association.
