SHIPS FOR COAL
WHAT IS NEEDED TO SUPPLY EUROPE. „ Australian and N.Z. Cable A emaciation. (Received September 29, 8-10 p.m.) WASHINGTON, September 28. The Shipping Board has issued a statement to the effect that Europe is facing a coal famine due to devoting shipping to more profitable commodities. Europe desires 81,000,000 tons of coal from, the United States, and unless European! shipping is enlisted in the work of carrying- this the United States’ bottoms will bo unable to accomplish the task.
