SOME BIG SURPLUSES. Am. and N.Z.- Cable Assn, and Reuter. (Received . May. 5, 12.16 a.m.) LONDON, May 3. Sir Joseph Ward returns to Paris on Sunday. He announces that the Finance Minister has cabled that New Zealand’s balance of revenue over expenditure for the financial year just dosed is £3.600,000. The total surpluses of revenue over expenditure during the life of the National Government is over fifteen millions, which places the Dominion in the finest financial position.
