There was a display of ilUtemper on the part of the crowd at the end of the Liverpool Handicap, in which there were six runners. The special rules printed in the"*book state that two dividends will be paid out "in all events in which five or more horses (the property of different owners) shall start." According to .popular opinion thoso who had tickets on the second horse (seeing tha; they were all carded in different names were entitled to a return from the machine, and dozens of people threw theii tickets away under th emisapprchensio; that there would be no second monci The whole thing was very unfortunate but it is understood the elub proposeto pay out to the holders of tickets on the second horse.
