To a man of leisure who has not had to patronise the city cars at rush times, the service during the past fortnight hag surely been an ideal one. The motorman, considerate to a degree for the safety and well-being of his passengers, has dallied long enough at each stop so that the most aged, and "infirm passenger hap been allow*! to alight at his own leisure. No discordant cry of "Hurry on, please 1" has disturbed the general tranquillity of the service. There have been eagleeyed tramway men anxious to sight and wait for any distant person rushing to oatch a car. So kind and thoughtful, indeed, have been the conductors that they have occasionally allowed passengers to have free rides. Indeed, for the gentleman of leisure the service has been truly delightful, even to the gentle rocking of the car lulling him to sleep. Who is to' be thanked for all thi s thoughtfulness Y The tramwaymen or the City Council? Well, that is really a matter of opinion. Those who consider the _ tramwaymen "industrial rebels" will no doubt thank them for the ideal service, while others who are prone to view the City Council as a sweating employer will gratefully thank the. City Fathers for the considerations of the past fortnight. A meeting of the College Board of Governors was held yesterday, there being present: Messrs W. F. Word (ehaiiman), W. Allan, W. H. P.
