Another member of the Institute team attended and admitted the offence complained of. After lengthy. evidence had ibeon taken, it was decided that Gib ■player be reprimanded for his attitude in tho case.nr trying to shield another player. The latter was suspended for the rest of the season.
The charge laid against the referee in the Manst v. Johnsouvitle third class ■game, that he had handed his whistle to a spectator on the line, was referred to the Referees’ Association. A donation of J3l was received from (Mr B. L. Salmon, towards the ground. Owing to a military parade on Saturday, the 4th B Cup match, St. David's v. Institute, will not ho played, v South Wellington wrote asking that (their match with Thorndon F.C. ■ be (replayed owing to the ball bursting during tho game. It was decided to replay the march on Saturday. Institute 4th B wrote protesting against tho win of Y.M.C.A. owing to the referee appointed not turning up. After hearing evidence it was decided to leave the matter in the hands of a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs Willianw and Auld. A letter was read from Canterbury asking that tho names of the Wellington team be forwarded to them, also any records of players in former Brown Shield matches.
In the sth B match, Johnsonvillo v. Thorndon, played last Saturday, tho ’latter club protested against tho goalkeeper of tho former team being over age. The forma showed that the player in question was under age and eligible to play. Tho protest was dismissed.
The following is lihe representative team to meet Canterbury in the Brown Shield match at Canterbury on September 7th:—Goal. MoNeera; backs, Gross and Fitzgerald; half-backs. Rarity, Auld., Wilson; forwards, Carruthors, Marshall, Edwards, Mungavin, and Ballard. Emergencies—J. McKenzie and Houston; . manager, Mr E. Windley; linesman, Mr C. F. Ward. Fifth Class trial matoh to bo played on Saturday : —A team: Goal, Richardson; backs, T. Jones and Calvert; half, habeks, Jeffrey, Eastwood, Bennett; forwards, Wandon, Stark. Lambert, Phelps, Foster; emergencies, Hanley, Clark, Bradaw. B team: Goal, Androws; (backs, Nordell, Cording; half-backs. Banks, Hendry. Davis;, forwards, Dempster. Mackley, \V: 'bras, Nicollo, Kenney ; emergency. Stylos. Mr Bennett, schoolmaster, wrote, asking that two representative matches be played in the school competitions, namely, Country v. North District and Country v. South District. It was decided that, if time allowed, the matches be ■played as requested. The Marist Brothers’ School, Thorndon, .wrote asking that Pat. McAulcy, of the school team, be transferred from sth B to 6th class. This was granted.
