CAMP NOTES
TEMPORARY APPOINTMENTS. The following temporary appointments hare been approved by the Trentham Camp Commandant, Colonel H. It. Patter, C.M.G.: — 15 Company, 45th Reinforcement. —Private B. t>. Mehaffey, to be orderly-room clerk; Corporals C. I. Gillies, A. E. .Gillespie, to be sergeants. C Company, 45th Reinforcement. —Corporals H. E. Nesbit. J. W". S. Jones, A. J. Toe, to bo sergeants. 33rd Eeinforcement. —Privates W.- AY. Bennett, C. B. Sandlant, to be buglera. 46th Eeinforcement. —Sergeants A. P. Roydhouse, W. Busaell, to be company ' sergeant-majors. FEATHEESTON. Tho Camp Commandant, Colonel N. P. Adams, C.M.G., has approved of the following temporary appointments; —Bom-- , hardier A. V. Thompson, of th© 48th .N.Z.F.A., to be corporal; Corporals G. A. De Labour *uml G. Lom.as, of the 49th Field Artillery, to be sergeants; Private E, J. Edgar and Private G. P. McLean, of D Company CT, also Private H. Lester. to be lance-corporals. Corporal A. Martin, of the P.E.AB.C., has been made sergeant, and Corporal W. Eohlofi. of the Maintenance, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant. Staff Nurse M. E. Shine has arrived in camp and is on duty at the hospital. All the cerebrospinal meningitis cases ax© reported to be doing well, and the manner in which they have passed the • crisis Is viewed with satisfaction by the .medical authorities. . • The camp gardens are looking very well at nre.sont, and week-end visitors have expressed thoir pleasure at the showing of anemones and daffodils at tho entrance. The gardens are in th© charge of bergetnt South: On Friday next, a company from the Cl camp will give a concert in the Salvation Armv Institute. The Cnited Institute Hall is being utilised as a skating rink, and the men naturally avail themselves of tho pleasure of an hour on the wheels. Regimental Sergeant-Major J. Thorpe has arrived in camp from Trentham for eluev with the physical training stall Sfcatf Sergeant-Major (VV.O.) G. Walker, of tho N.Z.P.S.. has also reported at this camp from Trentham for duty. ■ The Cheerups, a company of artists from the 46th Specialists, are to give a concert in the Soldiers’ Club this evening. Private MacEenzie has trained the company. . Tauherenikau Camp is at present empty, the 44ths having transferred to Eeatherston. The racecourse hospital, where the Medical Corps reinforcements are usually trained, is also closed at present until the arrival of the next draft from Awapuni. Second Lieutenant H. E. H. Beauchamp has been transferred to Base Itecords (on sick leave).
The Bartlett Studios are open on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. 7 to 9 o’clock, for tho particular convenience of men from i’eathorston and Trontharn Camos, for electric light sittings, 19, Willis street, Wellington.
