Owing to a certain shortage of shipping in New Zealand at the present time, dt has been freely rumoured in Bed Cross circles _thut it i B no use ‘to continue the work. It is . pointed out that although there may be some delay in getting goods sent forward, the need for tho goods will not in any way S'lessened, rather increased, if anything, and therefore it behoves all those interested in tho welfare of wounded and aick soldiers to have an readiness a supply of garments, etc., to go forward at tho earliest ; possible opportunity. Recent investigations show that almost all tho goods! sent from tho St. John Ambulance Brigade and Bed Cross at the Star Boating Club had been dispatched from New Zealand and that the remaindcr would all be away within a short time. Vho committee of the above society have been further assured that Bed Cross goods have priority of space, and while thanking all those who so generously contribute to the work-of tin brigade, hope they will Continue with increased enthusiasm to work for the alleviation of the suffering of our soldiers.
