Air Justice Chapman and Air Justice Sim have been appoint*! to try tho Grey by-election petition brought by Air Thomas Eldon Coates, barrister and solicitor, of Greymouth (tho defeated candidate), % against tho return of Air Harry Edmund Holland as member of Parliament for tho electoral district of Grey- The petition alleges that “a largo number of votes ’.vero cast for the said Henry Edmund Holland which should not have been cast, and if such votes are taken off the number of votes recorded ior tho said Henry Edmund Holland at tho election Tor tho said electoral district of Grey, hold ou the 2!Uh day of May, 1018, it may bo determined that tho said Henry Edmund Holland was not duly elected and returned as a member of Parliament for tho said electoral distrie.t of Grey, and that the said Thomas Eldon Coates was duly elected, and ought to havo been returned.”
Tho petition is to bo tried at the Supremo Courthouse, Greymouth, on Wednesday, September I.lth.
