NEW ZEALAND CLUB MEETING. (From Our Special Reporter.) PALMERSTON NORThI, June 19. The annual meeting ol tne Now Zealand Orpington Club was iieid to-day, Mr J. Jervis '(Palmerston) presiding. The annual report slaved that the club was not making the' progress expected. The increase an membership had not been large, although an effort had been made by the executive. Armyenlistments had reduced the ranks, and more members would be joining the colours. The council asked members to make a special effort to increase the membership. ’ The club’s first show was a pronounced success, about a hundred entries being benched, utility birds predominating. The balance-sheet showed receipts £3O, expenditure (including Orpington Shield) £l4 12s, liabilities £8 assets £25 10s.
The following officers were elected:— President, Mr John Jarvis; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs F. Staines, W. Scott; treasurer, Mr C. P. Robert; council, Messrs W. J. Mawkes. R. D. White, R. E. Cousins; auditor, Mr S. O. Whitehead.
