FIRE AT PAHIATUA
PREMISES COMPLETELY DESTROYED. I’road Association. PAHIATUA, May 2. A fire early this Dooming completely destroyed the Kosy confectionery and refreshment promises, occupied by ' A. W. Irvine. Irvine was absent at the time, and the family also. Two young women who were sleeping upstairs escaped in their nightdresses. An adjoining jewellery shop, occupied by P. Hodges, suffered considerably. The Kosy and Hedges’ shops were insured for £I2OO, Hedges’ stock for £IOOO, and the contents of the Kosy for £6OO. The buildings were owned by Mrs David Orowo.
