TO-DAY'S FUNCTIONS

To-day will be generally observed as a holiday, and the Government ollices will be closed. Tie .New Zealand' Ensign, will be displayed on all public buildings in the Dominion from sumrso to _ sunset, and it is expected that the ships in harbour will be gaiiy decorated -with bunting. At 9 a.m. Solemn Requiem Mass i lor the repose of the souls of the dead soldiers will be celebrated by. His Grace Archbishop O'Shea at St. Mary's Church, Boulcoit street. During the morning the nag will be unfurled at most of the schoob, and patriotic addresses given to the scholars. The Clyde quay school committee has been granted the use of the Paramount Theatre for the celebration ceremony at'lo.3o a.m. In the afternoon a Commemoration Service will be held at the Town Hall, conducted by Army Chaplain Major T. F. Taylor, Captains C. A- Owles and D. D. Scott. Lieutenant-Colonel W. K. Fyfe, M.D., •will preside at the organ. Their Excellencies • the Governor-General and lady Liverpool will attend. At Petone railway station the Australian and New Zealand flags will be unfurled and' speeches will be delivered by members of the Ministry. A meeting has been arranged to be held at, the Commercial Travellers' Club at, noon to-day, when short addresses will be given by the Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, the Hon. G. W. Russell, and the Hon. Arthur M. Myers. ' • The annual Anzac dinner and reunion will be held at the Concert Chamber, in the evening.
