Tho “Daily Chronicle” publishes a long article from _ Dunlin emphasising that these are critical days for the. Convention and urging tho necessity of a settlement upon a basis of autonomj within tho Empire. Tho article says it k now only a matter of safeguards for Ulster, which can be solved given goodwill and good faith among tho negotiators. Leading Unionists already say: “If you could guarantee us that tho Irish Parliament would bo a body like tlio Convention we would have no hesitation in accepting it.” . . _ Other newspapers publish similar articles, suggesting that the negotiations have reached an important stage, and pleading for tho utmost effort to avoid a breakdown. The delegates aro not asked to find a perfect form" of government, but a solution acceptable to all Irishmen.
