The Admiralty reports: Our light forces operating in Heligoland Bight engaged enemy light cruisers this morning. The latter retired at high speed. We are pursuing them. (Received November 18, 11.30 p.m.) COPENHAGEN, November 17. Reports from' tho Danish frontier state there was a violent cannonade this morning in the North Sea westward of Manoe Island. It lasted for four hours and was punctuated with heavy explosions. It is believed that a large number of Baltic warships were engaged. Several of them were seen.

Manoe is a small island off the Danish coast, in the North Sea.
