THE LATE MR TRIGGS

A COLLEAGUE’S TRIBUTE. Pre.°s Association. DUNEDIN, November 17. Tributes were paid to the late Mr J. p.. Triggs at a sitting of the Conciliation Council to-day, over which Mr P. Hally presided. Mr Hally said that Mr Triggs had no need to accept a position under the Government, but it was a hobby with him. It might be nows to some people that so far as hi s salary as Commissioner was concerned he had not used one penny of it, but had devoted the whole of it to charity. The country had lost the services of a man of honour and sense, who could ill he spared at this time. After the employers’ representatives had spoken, a vote of sympathy was •vuviri isv the council.
