FITZGERALD RELIEF FUND

OVER £250 RAISED.

The movement instituted in Wellington to assist the bereaved widow and family of the late Mr Fitzgerald, the victim of the Roseneath fatality, is progressing apace. Keen co-opera-tion is being shown, and all arrangements are well in hand. The benefit concert to bo held on Tuesday evening next in the Town Hall will be under the patronage of the Mayor (Mr J. P. Luke, C.M.G.) and Mayoress. An account has been opened at the Union Bank by the Mayor, with Messrs W. E. Jackson and L. Tiugey as trustees for the moneys collected. The various clubs and societies that are so actively taking a part in the movement are advised that they may pay any money they have colleoted into the fund through the Mayor. The commercial travellers have subscribed £SO to the fund. As tickets for the benefit performance are at present being sold in the streets of the city, there will he no sale of art union tickets for the Crippled Soldiers’ Art Union to-day.
