At tho Police Court to-day, Thomas McGhee, a reservist, was sentenced to cloven months’ imprisonment for attempting to leave the Dominion without a permit, tho sentence to be concurrent with that imposed recently by court-martial for deserting from tho reserve. . William Ennis, boatswain of the overseas steamer on which McGhoo was secreted, was convicted of assisting in tho attmept. As ho had already been gaoled for six weeks, a further six weeks was imposed. _ A coloured man, named Lopez, convicted of assisting, also had been In gaol for six weeks. Ho was sentenced to fourteen days.
