The Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club at a mooting to-day resolved ; * That while recognising there js considerable difference of opinion an to whether thoro should bo some limitation oi racing under present conditions, we arc of opinion that careful consideration of existing interests is required, especially to sco that the breeding of thoroughbred horses is not discouraged and that the livelihood of a large class of men, trainera and others, who are dependent for their living in such lampliijitent, and I are not suitable for other occupation, is not prejudiced; and that to obtain a fair consideration of the question it in desirable that tlm Racing Conference should: call a mooting at an early da to to appoint a committee to consider the whole question and make recommendations to the Government bearing on the whole matter.”
