A proclamation has been issued by the French Consulate addressed to all French subjects residing in the Dominion who prior to the war had been exempted from military service, or invalided out of the army. All such men born since January Ist, 1876, that is, all who wore less than forty years of age at the beginning of the present year, are asked to report themselves to the French Vice-Con-sulate in Auckland, or to the Consular agencies in the other towns in New Zealand, for the purpose of undergoing a further medical examination.
