There was no Y.M.C.A. secretary accompanying the last tioopship, but tho Mational Y.M.C.A. committee had arranged tliat a complete supply o£ things rcouasory for the soldiers' entertainment on board chip should be put oa board. This is done on all troopships, whether a field secretary goes or not.
The national secretary is anxious that there should bo no overlapping in tbi* respect and persons wishing to forward earnes and books olid songs, magazines, boxing gloves and games or money to purchase them should do so through tho medium of the Y.M.C.A., who have a full knowledge of what is required. It costs about .£SO to put a complete outfit on board a ship, and this has been dona on every ship since the war started.
