MAGISTRATE’S COURT
POLICE CASES. Mr L. G. Reid. SJM., presided at the sittings of the Magistrate’s Court, yesterday. A number of first-offending inebriates were convicted and discharged. Isidore Jacobus, a habitual drunkard, was sent to prison for 14 days, in default of paying a fine of 40s. There was no room for him at Roto Roa, or he would have been sent there. William Wallace, a sturdy, grizzled old battler, to whom hard work failed to bring a homo, was brought up on a charge of vagrancy.
