A violent storm broke over the city about 4 p.m. Fortunately it lasted only ißTout a quarter of an hour, but in that time a largo amount of damage was dono in several soft goods warehouses. The street channels wore quite unable to carry the water away, and a largo quantity of water entered many places through the roofs. Tile tram service was disorganised for about an hour-
