Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, February 27. Ip the Magistrate's Court to-day "Wilfred Sidney Herman Manning, an indent agent, was charged with having telegraphed, on May 20th, to ono Imamura, at Kobe, as follows: “Waiting reply, Fraser,’’ thereby attempting to indirectly communicate by telegraph through imamura with Hie Wmckler Company in Japan, which is alleged to bo an enemy firm. The defence was that defendant had acted honestly throughout the transaction, although possibly erroneously. Ho had no intention of contravening the law. Decision was reserved.
