In view of the fact that some business was being done tor export fat cattle sold well, as a now export fnm was among the buyers. Fat lambs wmc easier than last week, about 9-8 bmne, penned and tho two local tieeziu„ works were operating, , paying prices averaging 8d to B.\d per lb over all, and although prices were not. equal to those of last week there was strong demand until towards the end of the sale, to.porters were giving an average fit fed per... ib .over all for' both wethers and ewes. Store sheep were easier in consequence of the continued dry weather. Press Association. DUNEDIN, December' 6. At Burnside to-da- 190 fat cattle were yarded, mostly of good average quality. The entry exceeded requirements, and prices declined £l. Best: bullocks £lB to £l9, extra £23. good £l6 .to, £l7 10s, medium £l4 to £ls, best cows and heifers £l2 10s to £l3 15s, extra £l4 10s, medium to good £lO 10s Jo £l2. Sheep—l27o penned. The quality was hardly equal to that at some recent sales. At the opening prices were equal to last week's, but they receded towards tho finish. Prime shorn wethers 81s to 365, extra 40s, medium to good 31s to 335, light 27s to 295. prime shorn ewes 31s to 335. extra 355, mdiuau to good 2Gs to 295. Lambs —60 penned. Prices advanced Is to Is 6d. Prime 27s to 295, medium to good 24s to 265. Pjgs—3o fats and 35 stores were penned. The demand for fats was firm at late rates, and the market for stores was ver.y excited, extreme prices ruling.
