YOUNG WOMAN DROWNED
WHILE FOBBING A RIVER. Press Association. AUCKLAND, October 9. > Miss McLaren, school teacher at Ngutunui, thirteen miles from Otorothanga, was drowned while attempting to ford the Makararoa river. She was riding with a; small boy behind her when tho horse got into difficulties. The boy’s father, who was waiting on the bank, rushed into tho river. He saved his son; but was unable to help Miss McLaren.
