From Our Own Correspondent. MASTERTON, September 2. Mr W. Templeton has been appointed manager of the Kokotau cheese factory. The settlers of Belvedere tendered a farewell social to Mr and Mrs E- King and A. McPheo, who are leaving tbe district, and presented them with suitable gifts. Only one bankruptcy was recorded in Wainarapa in August. Now tnat the football season is over a further batch of players from the Red Star Football Club intend to enlist. The Ekotahuna Farmers’ Union has decided not to hold its field show next yearTnere were 16 births. 6 marriages, and 4 deaths in Masterton during August. On Sunday next Monsignor McKenna, V.G., will do invested with the robes and insignia of a domestic prelate to the Holy See, by Archbishop Redwood.
