Yesterday the Mayor of Onslow (Mi C. C. Crum”'' waited upon the Mayor of Wellington (Mr J. P. Luke) and pointed out that the Hutt Road Bill, recently introduced into the House of Representatives, gave control of tho road to the Wellington City Connell. At the last conference held, of representatives of the local bodies round Wellington, it was decided to recommand the Government to vest the control in the contributory authorities. Mr Luke expressed the opinion that this recommendation should he regarded on the principle that those bodies that are responsiDle for the upkeep of the road should be represented on tho .controlling authority.
