HEAVY RAINFALL
COLD WEATHER IN THE SOUTH. On Saturday morning a fall of 38 points of rain was recorded in Wellington, and 78 points yesterday, making 116 points for the two days. On Saturday, according to reports forivarded to the Government Meteorologist. snow fell thickly on the Higher levels in the south, while squally conditions, with hail, prevailed yesterday in southern districts.
